Burton LeGeyt
Model B 6-String Acoustic Guitar
Here is my model B guitar in Red Spruce and 50 year old Indian Rosewood. It is a large-bodied 12 fret guitar and has a beveled cutaway which allows access to the upper frets yet maintains much more of the internal air volume than a normal cutaway.
This is a detail of the backstrip and end graft of the same model B guitar. The tiles are splated maple inlaid between curly maple strips and the Indian Rosewood binding. The finish is a thin French Polish.
This is a detail of a rosette and fingerboard termination. The rosette is Camphor burl bordered by curly maple. The fingerboard is bound in Koa and has Camphor burl purfling around its perimeter.
