David Golber Violins
David Golber is a graduate of North Bennet Street School Violin Making and Repair program. David owns and operates David Golber Violins.
David Golber Violins is a small shop. You won't find thirty brands of strings to choose from. You won't find fifteen different shapes of chin rests. And I don't do bows. But you just might find the instrument that you've been waiting for ... at a price you couldn't find anywhere else.
Hardanger Fiddles
Toby Weinberg, one of the best American Hardanger fiddle players, beginning a concert at the 2004 annual meeting of the Hardanger Fiddle Association of America meeting:
"This fiddle is a very fine Anders C. Kleven fiddle, that I have owned for many years. Though it was well set up when I got it, I have never been quite happy with the way it sounded. It is only now after David Golber set it up for me again that I think it has really begun to sound the way I think it should."
David is one of a very few luthiers on this side of the Atlantic with extensive experience with Hardanger fiddles. He has been involved with these instruments for 20 years, and have spent many hours with top players and makers in Norway. He speaks and reads Norwegian. A Hardanger fiddle from David, whether new or repaired, will be properly and professionally set up, according to current Norwegian playing practice.
